(More customer reviews)A very good introductory book to the world of wireless network. It covers a number of popular cellular standards including IS-136, IS-95, GSM and the AMPS. However, not much material were devoted to the physical layer (i.e. modulation and coding).

This book will cover the topology of PCS networks and special equipment requirements, the design, configuration and maintenance of PCS nets. And as in all Uyless Black titles, related technologies will be discussed throughout. In this book, he will discuss the relationship of PCS to CDMA and TDMA (two rival technologies for the allocation of frequencies).
