(More customer reviews)I found this book to be a very appropriate way to move beyond linear and analog communication techniques (which is well understood and has been addressed by many authors) and into the realm of digital communication techniques. This text specifically addresses data communication, and how commonplace blocks (mixers, for example) must be re-considered to be applied to high bandwidth, non-voice/image communication systems. The treatment of digital modulation is well done, covering most of the variants of PSK in use today. The text also does a fine job of focusing on the actual implementation of the system, using available and in-development IC technology.
